Commission Process

Creating commissioned pieces is such a meaningful experience for me. Knowing a piece already has a beautiful home waiting for it is pure delight as an artist! We buy art because it helps our spaces tell a unique story and I am honored to be a part of your sacred space and story. I really connect with these pieces just knowing a little more of the intentions, meaning, and beauty you already bring to this piece.

My commission process goes like this:

First, please send me a quick email using the form near the bottom of this page. You can use the questions below to help me get a quick understanding of your needs.

What size painting do you need?

Are you on a deadline?

Ability to pick up in Chattanooga, TN?

Where did you find me?

Favorite painting(s) of mine?

The room or space you will be putting this piece?

I will get back to you within three business days with a price quote and my current lead time.

Here is an idea of pricing based on past commissions, but please keep in mind that every commissioned piece is unique and will have a unique quote.

  • 11x14 inches - $350

  • 24x36 inches - $475

  • 36x36 inches - $625

  • 30x40 inches - $700

  • 48x60 inches - $1,200

If you decide to proceed (yay!) I will put together a contract for us both to sign. There is a 50% non-refundable deposit, with the rest due upon completion. (I have never had anyone refuse their painting when it was done, but if that were to happen - your 50% deposit can be applied to any original art on my website.)

Upon receipt of the signed contract and deposit I will put together a digital mood board and color palette for your painting. If you have any fabric or paint swatches from your room I love to have these from the start. When you approve the color palette I get to work.

Your painting will take somewhere between 4-8 weeks to be completed. In many cases I actually paint two paintings to your specifications, and you get to choose your favorite. This takes a LOT of pressure off of me, and most clients love having the choice. When I feel your painting is about 90% done I will email you some photos. You provide any feedback on changes you'd like to make. Anything from “I’d like more blue” to “This feels too messy” to “I love it except for that one shape that reminds me of a duck” is valid. I will make any requested changes and present it to you for final approval. After that I will varnish, sign, and add hanging hardware. Unless we agree to something else, all commissions are painted on 1.5” gallery wrapped canvas unframed.

At this time, I do not ship paintings. I am looking into it, but for now all paintings must be picked up in Chattanooga, TN.

Please let me know if you have any questions about my commission process. I'd love to hear from you!
